La Fête Secrète – The exclusive event kicking off Milan Fashion Week and the exhibition “I Am Leonor Fini” at the Palazzo Reale in Milan

The Secret Party, The opening event for Milan Fashion Week 2025 and the launch of the exhibition “I Am Leonor Fini,” which took place on February 25, was a perfect example of this fusion.

Conceived and produced by Ask4Location, the event successfully combined art and fashion into a unique experience. The majestic setting of the Hall of the Caryatids in the Royal Palace, in Milan, was transformed for the occasion into a space of elegance and experimentation, giving rise to a veritable exclusive party, featuring captivating performances, special events, and a unique atmosphere.

A historic setting for an extraordinary event

The Hall of the Caryatids was the exceptional venue chosen for The Secret Party, the opening event held last February 25 and which will host the exhibition  “I Am Leonor Fini,” an exhibition organized by Mondo Mostre to celebrate one of the most enigmatic and revolutionary figures of Surrealism, known for her visionary aesthetic and her rejection of the artistic conventions of the time. 

Leonor Fini, an Italian-Argentine painter and set designer Active in the 20th century, she built her career by defying every artistic and social convention, creating visionary works that explore femininity, identity, and metamorphosis. 

The choice of Palazzo Reale for this exhibition has created a perfect blend of the past and the artist’s revolutionary aesthetic, giving rise to an exclusive party, a a charming evening where atmosphere, performances, and exceptional encounters came together to create an immersive experience.

The venue: Sala delle Cariatidi, Royal Palace – Milan

The Hall of the Caryatids, located inside the Royal Palace in Milan, is one of the city's most iconic locations. 

Built in 18th century As a ballroom, it hosted court receptions and major official events. Severely damaged during World War II, the hall was deliberately left unfinished, with its walls bearing the marks of history, creating a unique contrast between past and present.

What makes this location special?

Much more than just an exhibition space, the Sala delle Cariatidi is a place steeped in history and suggestion. Its charm lies in the combination of Baroque architectural elements and the evocative power of its interiors, which remained partially unfinished after the war. 

This contrast creates a sense of suspense, perfect for events with a strong visual and emotional impact.

The event dedicated to Leonor Fini found in this venue the ideal setting to highlight the artist’s visionary spirit. The soft lighting, the impressive architectural details, and the sense of history that permeates every corner of the room all contributed to creating an’an immersive and powerful experience.

Behind the Scenes of La Fête Secrète: Concept and Production

Inspired by Leonor Fini’s surrealist happenings, La Fête Secrète was designed to offer an immersive experience in which art, fashion, and mystery would weave together into a single narrative.

The opening was attended by figures from the worlds of fashion, art, and culture, further cementing the connection between these fields. 

The evening was made even more exclusive thanks to the collaboration with the Plastic, a historic Milanese club that helped create a surreal and unconventional atmosphere, perfectly in keeping with the spirit of the exhibition.

The event took shape based on a specific idea: recreate the enigmatic and provocative atmosphere that characterized the artist’s celebrations. For this reason, every detail was meticulously crafted, from the lighting to the set design, from the staging to the symbolic elements that paid homage to his visionary world.

One of the distinctive features of the event was the secret dress code, where each guest received a mask inspired by the cat-eye look, an iconic symbol of Leonor Fini’s aesthetic. This element not only added a touch of mystery but also transformed the evening into an interactive experience, in which the guests became an integral part of the setting.

The use of the Sala delle Cariatidi helped to highlight the theatrical nature of the event. L’lighting was designed to highlight the architectural details of the room, while the music and the live performance have helped create an atmosphere that hovers between the past and the present.
